The information that is provided concerning the raising of your German Shepherd
puppy has been compiled from the knowledge and experiences of many long-time
breeders, trainers and lovers of this magnificent and unequaled breed. In
addition to the information provided, you are encouraged to explore the other
publications that are listed in the Bibliography.
The addition of a German Shepherd puppy to your life should be viewed as
an important decision that will affect you and your family for the next 10-12
years. As with any child, the teaching and life experiences you provide will
shape the way the puppy views you and its world. The puppy, like the child,
will learn with you or without you. What he learns without your guidance
may be more difficult and time consuming to correct than spending the time
with him when he is eager to learn all you have to teach him. Use your time
wisely.
This
booklet is intended both for the new owner of a German
Shepherd puppy, and as a useful tool for the breeder
of German Shepherd puppies to give to new puppy buyers.
